Special guest: the Run Long Run Healthy founder Amby joins the show to reflect on the changes in marathon running, training, and culture since his first marathon in 1965.
I was puzzled by Amby's mention of the use of cards or popsicle sticks at the end of races. I asked him about it. His answer: We handed in cards as proof at the finish. we were asked our names. someone wrote these down. later timers matched a separate sheet of places and times to the first sheet of places and names. this is how scoring was done.
Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. It was fascinating and intriguing to listen to Amby discuss his journey and experiences with running through the years. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more in the future.
